Since 1990, Tim Jackson has been drawing a cartoon feature titled "Things
That Make You Go
Hmm..." which appears on the
editorial pages of Black owned & Alternative press newspapers &
magazines across the nation. This syndicated cartoon feature is noted for
how it humorously puts into perspective issues and headline events that
effect the lives of people of Color.
"Continuously Dis'd by the System" is the title of the featured book containing selected cartoons from "Things That Make You Go Hmm..." It has 110 pages of uniquely original cartoons that appeared during 1991 through 1994. Also included is a brief introduction by nationally syndicated cartoonist-of-Color, Morrie Turner, creator of America's first integrated comic strip, "Wee Pals".
The main theme of "Continuously Dis'd by the System" is built upon cartoons that speak to the issue of double standards, the media's negative images & politics as they impact the lives of Americans of Color in their pursuit of happiness.
